Rolf Harris is best known for his enormous TV. paintings, artwork and on screen cartoons, but actually he has a serious background in fine art. In the early 1950 's Rolf received a formal training in art at the Kensington City and Guilds Art School in London.

His own television series proved very popular, his ability to create huge paintings, by using of all things a large distemper brush during his performancies, quickly made him a firm favourite with his audiences. As well as having his work exhibited at the Royal Academy in London he was made a honourary member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 2000.

Rolf is much loved throughout the world for the joy he brings to all the varying activities he undertakes which include: - recording artist, musician, singer, songwriter, painter, cartoonist, author, comedian and television presenter.

He was honoured by the country of his birth in 1989 when he was made a member of the Order of Australia in recognition of his remarkable talents. He was also awarded with an M.B.E in 1968 and in 1977 the O.B.E followed.
